Peter Obi Made PDP Lose 2023 Election – Jandor

Jandor says Peter Obi made the PDP lose the 2023 election.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2023 governorship election in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city, has claimed he lost because of Peter Obi’s influence.
This online news platform understands that Jandor made this claim while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday night, March 4, 2025.
Jandor said his election campaign had gained huge momentum before the February 25, 2023, elections, however, the sudden shift in voter dynamics altered the outcome.
“We did everything, but that wave came and swallowed the whole thing. Nobody saw that coming,” Jandor said.
When asked, “If not for Peter Obi’s influence in the presidential election, would you have won the governorship election?” Jandor responded, “Absolutely, I probably would have won the election at the governorship election.”
The 2023 election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire, showed that the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to emerge the winner of the 2023 Lagos governorship election.
On the other hand, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, polled 312,329 votes, while Jandor scored 62,449 votes to finish in third position.
