Peter Obi Visits Kaduna Military Airstrike Victims, Makes Donations

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate during the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, i during his visit to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna to see firsthand the victims affected by the accidental military bombing in Tudun Biri Community expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State government and the hospital management for swiftly responding and taking care of the victims.

Peter Obi, who urged the federal government to give the military and other security agencies enough funding to improve their operations, called for a thorough review of unintended airstrikes on civilians, deeming it intolerable.

The 2023 LP Presidential candidate said there have been sixteen unintentional military bombs in the nation so far, resulting in the deaths of over 500 people. The former governor of Anambra paid a visit to the victims on Tuesday, December 12, at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.

Newsone reports that Peter Obi pointed out that addressing the current and future security threats facing the country requires sufficient resources for the armed forces.

He was in favour of the establishment of a foundation to provide for the victims of the Tudun Biri drone assault, especially those who have been left orphaned by the event, and he also backed requests for a probe into the military air strike.

Peter Obi endorsed an investigation into the incident, pledging a donation of five million naira to aid medical personnel treating the affected individuals. He further called on the government to support the military to ensure that such unfortunate incident does not repeat itself.
