Police have arrested #EndSARS protesters at #Lekkitollgate.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that police officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), armed to teeth who surrounded the Lekki Toll Plaza and other parts of Lagos where protests are expected to hold today, Saturday, February 13, 2021, have arrested some suspected Endsars protesters.
This online news platform understands that the unarmed protesters were arrested around 7:50 am.
The arrest is coming after the Lagos State Government warned organisers of the #OccupyLekkiTollGate and #DefendLagos protests at the Lekki Toll Plaza that their planned action cannot go ahead.
However, some defiant Lagos youths vowed to stage the #OccupyLekkiTollGate protest, despite warnings from authorities.
According to a post made by the Rapid Response, Lagos State Police Command, on Facebook, one CSP Yinka Egbeyemi is “leading a team of police officers on a show of force to Lekki Toll Gate, Obalende, Ikoyi, Jakande Roundabout, and other areas in Eti Osa as part of efforts to deter crime as well as boost the morale of his officers in the areas”
