The Police Service Commission has suspended all pending police promotions in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) until further notice.

YaahooJournalist reports that the decision was taken at a meeting of the commission’s board with the joint Trade Union Congress in Abuja on Tuesday.

The decision to suspend all pending police promotions in the NPF follows the PSC’s dispute with the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, over the recruitment of 10,000 constables into the NPF.

YaahooJournalist learned that the TUC demanded that the PSC should withdraw all delegated powers extended to the IGP since it has been abused.

It was gathered that the meeting on Tuesday, rose with a Management decision to endorse the demand and stand of the Union that the Commission must seek judicial interpretation of its constitutional mandate for Appointment, which has been at the centre of the dispute.
