Newsone reports that an American actor best known for his role as Zahir Arif on the HBO television series Oz, Granville Adams is dead.

This online news platform understands that Granville Adams died following a long battle with cancer on Sunday aged 58. Granville Adams death was confirmed by his colleague Kirk Acevedo.

Acevedo took to his verified Twitter handle on Sunday night to write: “I lost my brotha today after a long battle with cancer. I don’t do well with loss because I’m unfamiliar with it.”

He added: “Yo Granny we’ll be chopping it up on the other side one day. Until then… Rest easy my friend.”
