The Presidency has broken its silence on the forceful resignation of NNPCL GCEO Bayo Ojulari.
Newsone Nigeria reports that the Presidency has denied reports that President Bola Tinubu has sacked or directed the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, to resign.
A report by an online newspaper on Saturday alleged that Ojulari was detained on Friday and coerced into signing a resignation letter by the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, and the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Adeola Ajayi.
However, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, in a message to The Witness, dismissed the report as false and unfounded.
President Tinubu appointed Ojulari as the chief executive of the national oil company in April 2025.
