Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has sought the approval of the House of Representatives for the appointment of fifteen (15) Special Advisers.
Yaahoo Journalist reports this was disclosed in a letter read by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday, July 11.
President Buhari said in the letter that the appointment is in line with Section 151 of the constitution.
The letter reads, “pursuant to provision of Section 151 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) which confers to the president powers to appoint special advisers to assist him in the performance of his functions.
“It is my hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The President also sent a similar letter to the Nigerian Senate, but the approval is different from the confirmation letter, the letter is to inform the House.
