Remo Stars made history as the first privately owned club to win the title since Udoji United did so in 1996.
It is also the first time a South West club has claimed the title since the now-defunct Julius Berger won it two decades ago.
The Ikenne-based club sits atop the standings with 68 points from 35 matches. Second-placed Rivers United have accumulated 58 points from the same number of games.
