Governor Fubara.

Governor Fubara has revealed what he intends to do after meeting with President Tinubu and Wike.

Newsone Nigeria reports that Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, has expressed readiness to give peace a chance amid the prolonged face-off with his immediate predecessor and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

This online news platform recalls that the Rivers State Governor and other stakeholders entered into an eight-point agreement in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Monday, December 18, 2023, in a bid to end the political crisis in the state.

Speaking on the eight-point resolutions released by the stakeholders to quell the fight between the duo, Governor Fubara, who spoke at the 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences in Iriebe Town, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, said he is ready to pay the price for peace.

Governor Fubara expressed his commitment to ensuring peace in the state and among the people to foster development, a day after he met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and FCT Minister, Wike.

The governor said: “There is no price that will be too big to pay to ensure that peace prevails.”

Governor Fubara also assured the people of the state that his administration would ensure access to quality education and healthcare in the state

He said: “While some progress has been made, it is obvious that a lot still needs to be done to achieve our collective aspirations for universal access to quality education and healthcare for our people.

“I need not say that no society can progress without educated and healthy people.”
