Sanwo-Olu Re-imposes COVID-19 Restrictions In Lagos

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has given an update on reopening of mosques, churches in Lagos amid coronavirus in Nigeria.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Governor says Churches, Mosques and other religious centres will remain closed until further notice to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

Governor Sanwo-Olu made this known on Friday at his daily briefing at Alausa, Ikeja, the state capital.

The Lagos governor said the restrictions on mass gathering will remain enforced in the state. He added that all social and events centres will also remain closed.

This is coming after the Lagos State government reopened schools in the state for students in transitional classes. Governor Sanwo-Olu revealed this development on Friday during a press briefing.

Governor Sanwo-Olu said: “Only students in transitional classes (Basic Six, JSS 3 and SS3) are permitted to resume from Monday, 3rd of August, 2020. It applies only to day schooling.”
