OPEN HEAVEN 31 JANUARY 2025 TOPIC: GOD TEACHES I

OPEN HEAVEN 31 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him. Isaiah 28:26

OPEN HEAVEN 31 JANUARY 2025 READ: Psalm 25:4-12

4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

While I was studying for my PhD, I was faced with 186 simultaneous equations, which I had been trying to solve for 18 months.

With no solution in sight, it looked like I would have to pick a new problem to solve, meaning that my 18 months of efforts would go to waste.

One night, around 10pm, after battling the problem and still not making progress, I decided to read my Bible and go to bed.

I was reading Exodus 14, where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, and I heard God’s voice, “That is the solution to your problem.”

It didn’t make sense to me that the story of the crossing of the Red Sea would be the solution to a PhD thesis problem.

However, God said further, “Go and bring your equations.” I obeyed, and He started teaching me, instructing me to put some equations on the left and some on the right.

By the time I finished, I realized that all the ones on the left had something in common, likewise the ones on the right.

Then, God said, “Now, solve the equations on the left together and those on the right together. Then, bring the two together.”

God taught me Mathematics with the parting of the Red Sea, and after five hours, my thesis was ready. It was so good that the external examiner said that he had no questions for me.

God teaches His children through His word. If you are an ardent student of the Bible, every now and then, as you study, He will teach you things that will make difficult situations become easy for you.

David said in Psalm 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Sometimes, the solution to your problem may come from just simply reading the Bible without necessarily having a man of God lay hands on your head.

Unfortunately, many Christians don’t read their Bible, and that is why they continue to struggle with simple problems for many years.

Jesus said in John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Having a knowledge of the truth through God’s word will ensure that you live victoriously.

Students know that if they don’t study their textbooks, they will fail their exams. Your Bible is the textbook of life; study it so that you will not fail in life.

OPEN HEAVEN 31 JANUARY 2025 ACTION POINT

Make sure you spend quality time studying your Bible every day.

OPEN HEAVEN 27 JANUARY 2025 MONDAY: THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

OPEN HEAVEN 27 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: Wherefore God also hath highly exalteth him, and given him a name which is above every name: Philippians 2:9

    OPEN HEAVEN 27 JANUARY 2025READ: Jeremiah 32:17-20

    17. Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

    18. Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

    19. Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

    20. Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

Years ago, a young man was involved in a road accident in which everyone else died except him. He was taken to a hospital and was in a coma for several days.

While still in coma, he would occasionally regain consciousness and shout, “Jesus.” Then, he would relapse. This kept reoccurring until he regained full consciousness. He recovered fully, and He is still alive as I write this.

No matter how helpless a situation is, when you call on the name of Jesus, everything turns around for good. The name of Jesus is enough to bring down any mountain.

Philippians 2:10 says: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”

A young boy, who was the son of a Muslim cleric, gave his life to Christ. His father felt embarrassed that his son had converted to Christianity, and after many arguments and persuasions, it became clear that his son was unwilling to reverse his decision.

Feeling frustrated, the father got his fellow clerics to produce a charm to attack his son. One day, he called his son’s name with the charm, and as expected from a son who hears his father’s call, the boy answered.

As he answered, the young boy looked up and saw a big rock coming towards him. Immediately, he shouted, “Jesus!” and it disappeared. It was a spiritual attack, but it failed at the mention of the name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus is powerful and potent all by itself. This is why you must learn to use it in the face of impending danger. However, you should not call the name of Jesus in vain or as a mere exclamation.

Do not call the name of Jesus casually so you do not attract the wrath of the owner of the name. Even as a human being, you would not like it if people toy with your name; how much more the Most High God?

Exodus 20:7 says: “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain

Beloved, you will overcome whatever challenges you face if you call upon the name of Jesus. As the Bible says in Romans 10:13, whosoever calls on the name of Jesus shall be saved.

OPEN HEAVEN 27 JANUARY 2025 KEY POINT

The name of Jesus is not an ordinary name; it is filled with power!

    OPEN HEAVEN 27 JANUARY 2025 HYMN 1:

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME

    1. All hail the power of Jesus’ Name!
    Let angels prostrate fall;
    Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown Him Lord of all.
    Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    2. Let highborn seraphs tune the lyre,
and as they tune it, fall
Before His face Who tunes their choir,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Before His face Who tunes their choir,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    3. Crown Him, ye morning stars of light,
    Who fixed this floating ball;
Now hail the strength of Israel’s might,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Now hail the strength of Israel’s might,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    4. Crown Him, ye martyrs of your God,
    who from His altar call;
Extol the Stem of Jesse’s Rod,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Extol the Stem of Jesse’s Rod,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    5. The seed of Israel’s chosen race,
    ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    6. Hail Him, ye heirs of David’s line,
    Whom David Lord did call,
    The God incarnate, Man divine,
and crown Him Lord of all,
    The God incarnate, Man divine,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    7. Sinners, whose love can ne’er forget
    the wormwood and the gall,
Go spread your trophies at His feet,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Go spread your trophies at His feet,
and crown Him Lord of all.

    8. Let every tribe and every tongue
    before Him prostrate fall
    And shout in universal song
    the crownèd Lord of all.
    And shout in universal song
    the crownèd Lord of all

OPEN HEAVEN 24 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Psalm 126:5

    OPEN HEAVEN 24 JANUARY 2025 READ: Psalm 126: 5-6

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Be empowered to live a life of obedience and faith like Father Abraham, so that you may walk in his blessings. God bless you as you engage, share these messages, prayers and declarations.

Some people who are not Christians become very rich because they understand the principle of sowing and reaping.

If those who do not know God benefit from this simple principle, how much more God’s children?

During a Kenneth Hagin camp meeting several years ago, a call was made for a special offering to be collected.

Then, one man got up and said, “Brothers and sisters, please give very generously this evening because the total amount you all give is what my wife and I will give.”

There were about 17,500 people in attendance. When the offering was counted, it amounted to about $3.5million.

He got up again and said, “Brethren, is this all you can do?” I said to myself, “This fellow knows something that I do not know,” so I cornered him after the meeting and asked, “What is your secret?” He said, “Five years ago, I started a business with $500, and I told God, ‘This company is Your company.

I will not insult You by giving You 10 percent; I will keep 10 percent, and You will have 90 percent. It is up to You to prosper the company if You want to.” He continued, “Sir, today, I have a turnover of $50million.”

I learnt a major lesson that day. Though I do not give God 90 percent yet, I am on my way, and He has already blessed me beyond my expectations.

If you see someone walking in glory, try and find out what their story is. If you see someone prospering much more than you, and you are both children of the same heavenly Father, find out their secret.

The Bible says that God blessed Abraham in everything (Genesis 24:1). He was rich in cattle, houses, lands, and servants.

Today, billions of Christians say, “Abraham’s blessings are mine.” However, the same Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son at God’s instruction (Genesis 22:10).

He also obeyed God to leave his father’s house to an unknown land (Genesis 12:4), lived in tents in the land God showed him, refusing to become attached to anything God blessed him with (Hebrews 11:9), and gave tithes to God (Genesis 14:20). Those who will enjoy the blessings of Abraham must do his works.

Beloved, there’s always a story behind every glory. Don’t just ask God to give you the glory you see on others who are shining today; try to find out what they did to walk in that glory.

OPEN HEAVEN 24 JANUARY 2025 KEY POINT

There is always a story behind the glory you see.

    OPEN HEAVEN 24 JANUARY 2025 HYMN 35:

‘TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS

    1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,

    Just to take Him at His Word;

    Just to rest upon His promise;

Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”

    Refrain

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!

    How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!

    Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!

O for grace to trust Him more!

    2. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,

    Just to trust His cleansing blood;

And in simple faith to plunge me

    ’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

    3. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,

    Just from sin and self to cease;

    Just from Jesus simply taking

Life and rest, and joy and peace.

    4. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,

    Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend,

And I know that Thou art with me,

Wilt be with me to the end.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalm 73:26

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 JANUARY 2025 READ: Psalm 73:20-26

20 As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

When I was younger, I thought that King David wrote the entire book of Psalms.

However, when I became meticulous with my Bible study, I discovered that Asaph, a friend of King David, was also a talented psalmist.

He prayed in his psalms and was often seeking understanding from God and expressing trust in Him during times of difficulty.

From today’s memory verse, you can deduce that Asaph had a lot of struggles as a young man.

He, however, poured out his heart to God even while grappling with life’s challenges, and God granted him wisdom and peace amidst the challenges.

Beloved, you have to be honest and vulnerable with God in prayer.

Sometimes, I see teenagers fold their hands, press their phones, or gist during prayers, and I shake my head in disappointment.

A prayer session is an opportunity to be vulnerable with God and tell Him all your struggles so that He can help you.

Don’t be nonchalant in the place of prayer.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 JANUARY 2025 PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to be honest and vulnerable with You in prayer.

6 Watch, As If On That Alone
    Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
    Watch And Pray.

OPEN HEAVEN 21 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalm 26:7

OPEN HEAVEN 21 JANUARY 2025 READ: Psalm 145:1-12

1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

2 Everyday will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

    11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

Let every impossible situation in your life turn into a testimony of God’s power and grace. God bless you as you engage, share these messages, prayers and declarations.

Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing God’s word. Revelation 12:11 also tells us that testimonies are powerful weapons that can defeat the devil. This is why I keep sharing testimonies.

I have discovered that many people don’t often remember the Bible passages I quote during my sermons, but they remember the testimonies.

When you look back at the things the Lord has done, you become confident that you can overcome any obstruction that may come your way.

In 1 Samuel 17:1-51, when David confronted Goliath, his testimonies gave him the assurance that he would win.

He said, “The God who delivered me from the lion and the bear will deal with Goliath.” God has kept you alive until now, and He will keep you unto the end, in Jesus’ name.

Bartimaeus, in Mark 10:46-52, was a blind man who was begging by the roadside. He heard that Jesus was passing by and began to cry for help.

How did he know that Jesus can open blind eyes? I’m sure it was because he had heard testimonies of miracles that Jesus had performed.

So, when he heard that the same Jesus was passing by, he knew that his miracle had come.

Several years ago, I shared a testimony about how my wife delivered a baby naturally after she had delivered three of our children through Caesarean Sections.

The doctor had told us, “No more babies,” and we agreed. Thereafter, we became born again, and one day, I read the Bible passage that says, “…with God nothing shall be impossible,” and I believed it.

My wife and I agreed that we would have another child, and this time, we would not involve any doctor. The baby was born safely by God’s grace.

I shared the testimony for the first time in Kaduna, a state in Northern Nigeria, as I preached a message titled, ’10 steps to your miracle’ (The original sermon note l used can be accessed in the Open Heavens International Centre).

A woman who attended the programme wrote all the steps in her notebook. She had undergone two Caesarean Sections and was pregnant with her third baby.

When she was about to give birth, she took the notebook and began to follow the steps. While she was still acting on the steps, the baby came.

Beloved, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). If you have heard someone share a testimony concerning whatever situation you are going through, have faith that your miracle will also come.

    OPEN HEAVEN 21 JANUARY 2025 HYMN 26:

THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

    1. There shall be showers of blessing:

    This is the promise of love;

    There shall be seasons refreshing,

    Sent from the Savior above.

    Refrain:

    Showers of blessing,

    Showers of blessing we need:

    Mercy-drops round us are falling,

But for the showers we plead.

    2. There shall be showers of blessing,

    Precious reviving again;

Over the hills and the valleys,

Sound of abundance of rain. [Refrain]

    3. There shall be showers of blessing:

    Send them upon us, O Lord;

Grant to us now a refreshing,

Come and now honor Thy Word. [Refrain]

    4. There shall be showers of blessing:

Oh, that today they might fall,

Now as to God we’re confessing,

Now as on Jesus we call! [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 14 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.  1 John 5:3

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 14 JANUARY 2025 READ: 1 John 4:7-8

    7. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

    8. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Several years ago, an evangelist went to Ghana when it was still called the Gold Coast. He met a woman who was very poor and had only one dress, which she wore every day.

She gave her life to Christ, and one day, she dropped a gold coin into the offering basket. The evangelist then told her, “Looking at you, I’m suspecting you stole this gold coin from your master.”

The woman replied, “No, I didn’t steal it; I sold myself as a slave, and this is the payment made to me.” That, indeed, is a great demonstration of truly loving God.

Today’s memory verse makes it clear that your obedience to God’s commandments is a proof of your love for Him. If you love Jesus by giving your all to Him and obeying His commandments, God will love you specially, and He will dwell with you (John 14:23).

Loving everyone around us also reflects our genuine love for God, because, in 1 John 4:20, the Bible says, “If a man say, l love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” My dear child, do you truly love God?

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 14 JANUARY 2025 KEY POINT

If you truly love God, you will obey His commandments and love other people.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 14 JANUARY 2025 HYMN 44:

DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS

    1. Deeper, Deeper In The Love Of Jesus
    Daily Let Me Go;
Higher, Higher In The School Of Wisdom,
    More Of Grace To Know.

    Refrain:
    Oh, Deeper Yet, I Pray,
    And Higher Ev’ry Day,
    And Wiser, Blessed, Lord,
    In Thy Precious, Holy WorD.

    2. Deeper, Deeper! Blessed Holy Spirit,
    Take Me Deeper Still,
Till My Life Is Wholly Lost In Jesus,
    And His Perfect Will. [Refrain]

    3. Deeper, Deeper! Tho’ It Cost Hard Trials,
    Deeper Let Me Go!
Rooted In The Holy Love Of Jesus,
    Let Me Fruitful Grow. [Refrain]

    4. Deeper, Higher, Ev’ry Day In Jesus,
    Till All Conflict Past,
Finds Me Conqu’ror, And In His Own Image
    Perfected At Last. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVEN 14 JANUARY 2025 MEMORISE: Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; which turneth the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters. Psalm 114:7-8

OPEN HEAVEN 14 JANUARY 2025 READ: Joshua 6:1-20

1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.

3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.

4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.

5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.

7 And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the Lord.

8 And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the Lord, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them.

9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.

10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.

11 So the ark of the Lord compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.

12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.

13 And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the Lord, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.

14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.

15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.

16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city.

17 And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the Lord: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.

19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord: they shall come into the treasury of the Lord.

20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

Surround yourself with prayer warriors and helpers who will join you in the prayer of agreement for victory. God bless you as you engage, share these messages, prayers and declarations.

In today’s Bible reading, the children of Israel were close to the promised land, but a mighty wall stood in their way.

Joshua knew that their progress would be affected by the wall, and God gave him the strategy to bring the wall down and lead His people into what He had prepared for them.

When it feels like something is obstructing your access to God’s promises, you first need to identify exactly what it is so you can ask God for the strategy to overcome what is hindering your progress.

If you have not identified what is stopping your progress, you may be fighting the wrong battles while the actual enemy remains unchallenged

In many cases, the forces of darkness are the wall of Jericho that hinders the progress of people since the devil’s only job is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

If you notice that something bigger than you is blocking your way when you are about to succeed in an endeavour, you need to pray against that force.

The good news is, Isaiah 54:17 says: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Beloved, if you are a child of God and you’re serving Him diligently, you have the legal right to condemn whatever forces that may arise against you.

Some of these evil forces are stubborn and will not stop if you tell them to go just once. Hence, you need to pray and fast persistently before they go.

Jesus said in Mark 9:29 that some demons cannot be overcome except by prayer and fasting.

If you have done all these and you still cannot see any change, you probably need to find someone who can join you in prayers so you can engage the prayer of agreement.

Deuteronomy 32:30 says: How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

You can also ask a minister of God with higher authority to pray for you. After taking these steps, there is no force that can stand in your way.

OPEN HEAVEN 14 JANUARY 2025 PRAYER POINT

I speak to every force standing in my way of progress; disappear now, in Jesus’ name.

    OPEN HEAVEN 14 JANUARY 2025 HYMN10:

    IN CHRIST ALONE

1 In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my Light, my Strength, my Song
    This Cornerstone, this Solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

2 In Christ alone, Who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This Gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

3 There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

4 No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
    Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
