Trump Releases Transcript Of Phone Conversation With Ukraine President
The President of the United States, Donald Trump has finally released the transcript of a conversation with Ukraine President, Vlodymir Zelenskiy.
YaahooJournalist reports that the transcript of the phone conversation showed that Trump asked Ukraine President for information on Former U.S. Vice President and Democratic foe Joe Biden’s son Hunter during a call in July.
A transcript released by the White House on Wednesday says: “There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General, would be great,” the transcript reads.
“Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.”
In a series of tweets late Tuesday evening, Trump said he had authorized the release of the unredacted transcript of his phone conversation, saying it was a “totally appropriate call,” GlobalNews reports.
“I am currently at the United Nations representing our Country, but have authorized the release tomorrow of the complete, fully declassified and unredacted transcript of my phone conversation with President Zelenskiy of Ukraine,” he wrote. “You will see it was a very friendly and totally appropriate call. No pressure and, unlike Joe Biden and his son, NO quid pro quo!”
Hours later, Trump said Mike Pompeo, the Secretary of State, had received permission from the Ukraine Government to release the transcript.
“They don’t know either what the big deal is,” he wrote. “A total Witch Hunt scam by the Democrats!”
GlobalNewsreports that the call is at the centre of the latest scandal dogging the Trump administration, and is the focus of a formal impeachment inquiry announced on Tuesday by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
