BREAKING: Former US President, Donald Trump Convicted

Trump is not having a nice time, no thanks to us election results.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that President Donald Trump of the United States has pleaded with the electoral commission in America to “stop the count” of the ongoing US Election 2020.

Trump who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Republican party made this plea on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday, November 5 in reaction to what he referred to as “manipulative results” of the ongoing election.

The winner of the election is determined through a system called the electoral college. Each of the 50 states, plus Washington DC, is given a number of electoral college votes, adding up to a total of 538 votes. More populous states get more electoral college votes than smaller ones.

A candidate needs to win 270 electoral college votes (50% plus one) to win the election. In every state except two – Maine and Nebraska – the candidate that gets the most votes wins all of the state’s electoral college votes.

Due to these rules, a candidate can win the election without getting the most votes at the national level. This happened at the last election, in which Donald Trump won a majority of electoral college votes although more people voted for Hillary Clinton across the US.

on Thursday, Biden secured 264 electoral votes, showing that he needs six electoral votes to meet the needed 270 to win the 2020 presidential election in the United States of America while Trump, on the other hand, has just 214 electoral votes.

President Trump who is apparently displeased with this, took to Twitter to demand that the ongoing votes counting of the US election 2020 should be immediately put on hold in a tweet that garnered over 99,000 comments in 33 minutes. The US President simply tweeted: “STOP THE COUNT“.
