Veteran Female TV Presenter Is Dead

A veteran female TV presenter is dead.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the members of the fourth Estate are yet again mourning after the demise of one of their own.

Lorna Irungu, who was a veteran news anchor has been proclaimed dead today.

The former news anchor has been battling Lupus Disease which she was diagnosed with in her early twenties.

The disease attacked her kidneys, prompting her to undergo her first Kidney transplant in 1998.

Lorna, later on, had 3 other kidney transplants, the last one being in 2008, leading to her exit from TV.

She worked as a news producer at KBC where she also hosted the Omo-Pick-a-Box show which was aired on the same station on Sundays.

After this, she hosted the Club Kiboko Show and later on State of the Nation at Nation FM Radio.

The renowned journalist studied Communications at Daystar University and she said that she drew her passion of journalism from CNN’s Christian Amanpour.

Apart from this, Lorna was also involved in producing content for the Kenyan Theatre.

At the time of her death, Lorna had been working as a Public Relations CEO at the Gina Din Group.

Lorna has been described by Journalists like John Allan Namu as the very best, with other journalists saying that she was a dedicated person in the industry.
