Newsone reports that a young Nigerian female lawyer who was called to the Bar on the 28th of July, 2021, Ifunanya Grant Excel popularly known as Ifunanya Delilah or Ifunanya Mami Wata on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, is currently trending.
This online news platform understands that Ifunanya lawyer started trending on the internet last year when news emerged that she was reportedly suspended by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) over misconduct.
Although the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) swiftly responded to reports that it suspended Ifunanya Grant Excel popularly known as Ifunanya Delilah for posting photos of herself either naked or smoking marijuana on social media, the young Nigerian lawyer herself was silent until now.
Speaking on the alledged suspension by the NBA in a recent interview Yangi Media, the young lawyer said she was never suspended from the NBA contrary to viral reports.
She said, “I was never suspended. I mean, we all know that Nigerian Bar Association is a reputable organisation. If I were suspended, they will make it known to the public that this is what happened. It wouldn’t come from blogs.”
Ifunanya Lawyer said she doesn’t conform to societal norms because society expects women to be submissive and docile, adding that she would continue with her lifestyle regardless of what society thinks of her.
Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that Ifunaya lawyer smokes marijuana, and an examination of her social media accounts reveals that they are symptomatic of someone with a high libido. While some have questioned her purported suspension by the body of benchers, many have also dubbed her a model who showcases her art differently.
In a statement sent to BarristerNG.com, last year, Miss Ifunanya Excel Grant Esq denied making the “Gangster and Stoner” post and blamed online scammers who stole her pictures to create a “catfish account” to scam people.
According to her, she is not on any social media platform and didn’t make the Viral Facebook post. “I AM NOT A GANGSTER or a stoner or anything of such”, the statement reads in part.
Miss Grant stated that she is an Instagram Model and not a practicing Lawyer at the moment. She explained that her pictures with cigars were part of her current work as Instagram Model and Actress and the pictures are for modeling and acting purposes only.
Notwithstanding her disclaimer, a look at the Instagram page of Miss Grant @Funaya_, shows that the message in the Viral post has a striking resemblance to the posts on her Instagram page where she post mostly sexually provocative and Sultry Videos and Pictures usually associated with Models.
Even though Miss Grant disclaimed being a Gangster, in one of her pictures on her page, she addressed herself as an “Emotional Gangster”.
