Newsone reports that a political thug of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling political party, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, was on Friday arrested in Osun State by personnel of the Nigerian Army.

This online news platform understands that the arrest of the APC thug with guns is coming a few hours before the Osun State governorship election slated for Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Newsone Nigeria reports that Asiri Eniba, who is the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Osogbo Branch, was arrested alongside some other armed political hoodlums at Ojurin motor park, Old Garage in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

“He was arrested along with two of his boys. He was released but placed under Nigerian Army’s watch,” a source confirmed to SaharaReporters.

The political thugs were caught with two guns, cutlasses, and Indian hemp. Newsone learned that they have subsequently whisked away to the Army Barracks, Ede. The NURTW boss and his boys were, however, released following intervention from some top government officials but placed under the Nigerian army’s watch.

On July 6, Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, accused Asiri Eniba of disrupting the peace of Osogbo when thugs invaded his palace during the visit of Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party.

“Go and tell them and let Asiri Eniba know that I won’t tolerate disruption of peace in my domain,” the monarch had said.
