NewsOne Nigeria reports that news broke on Thursday, April 22, quoting the Lagos State Police Command to have said that it had arrested a popular Nollywod actor, Olarenwaju James (Baba Ijesha), for defiling a minor.
This online news platform recalls that Muyiwa Adejobi, the Lagos Police spokesman in a statement on Thursday, April 22, said the case of defilement was reported on 19th April, 2021.
In the statement, the Lagos Police spokesman said Baba Ijesha started sexually assaulting the victim, who is 14 years old, since she was 7 years old.

April 24 when this article was published, NewsOne Nigeria was yet to get a full biography of who the said lady is, the statement released by the Lagos Police Command in response to the arrest of Baba Ijesha, states that the Nollywood actor was reported by a lady who was identified as Princess Adekola Adekanya.
The statement about Baba Ijesha defiling a minor reads as thus; “The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Olarenwaju James ‘m’ 48, aka Baba Ijesha, popular Nollywood actor for defiling a minor.
“The case of defilement was reported on 19th April, 2021 by one Princess Adekola Adekanya ‘f’ at Sabo Police Station and transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation
“Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14 years old, since she was 7 years old. The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter,” the statement added.

Maybe if Princess Adekola Adekanya had not reported Baba Ijesha to the police, the Nollywood actor would have been walking as a “freeman” and maybe still continue to carry out his evil act.
But thanks to the lady, the Nollywood actor is behind bars and would probably have a long walk to freedom, this is why Baba Ijesha will never forget Princess Adekola Adekanya in a hurry as she could best be described as his “nightmare.”
