Newsone reports that the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, approved the conferment of Nigerian National Honours on Two Hundred and Fifty-six (256) Nigerians and friends of Nigeria in the year 2006 as classified hereunder:
GCON – 3
CFR – 11
CON -21

MON -26

This online news platform understands that seven (7) Federal Republic Medals (1st and 2nd Classes) were conferred by the then President Obasanjo on another set of Nigerians as shown hereunder:
FRM 1st Class – 5
FRM 2nd Class -2
