UVA Shooting Suspect Mugshot Goes Viral On Reddit, Twitter And Youtube

UVA shooting suspect mugshot has gone viral on Reddit, Twitter, and Youtube.

Newsone reports that the suspect in Sunday night’s fatal shooting at the University of Virginia is in custody and a shelter-in-place on grounds has been lifted. The arrest took place around 11 a.m. Monday in Henrico County, where the sheriff’s office was already on the lookout for the vehicle he was believed to be driving.

This online news platform understands that no fewer than three people were killed and two others injured, according to University of Virginia President Jim Ryan.

The three people who were killed, all members of the football team, have been identified as Devin Chandler, a third-year student from Huntersville, North Carolina, Lavel Davis, Jr., third-year from Dorchester, South Carolina, and D’Sean Perry, a third-year from Miami, Florida. Of the two other people shot, one is in critical condition and one is in good condition.

According to UVA President Jim Ryan, the shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. Sunday on UVA grounds on Culbreth Road. It took place on a bus in a parking garage.

Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. was quickly identified as the suspect and a student of the university. Jones was on the UVA football team in 2018. Police say Jones has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that classes at the university have been canceled for Monday. Classes are also canceled Monday for Charlottesville City Schools and Albemarle County Schools, and Nelson County Public Schools was on a modified lockdown during the search for the suspect.
